as they progress further through the cave, larvitar gives a snort and turns on the absol's back. something clinking around in the cave draws sam's attention, but only for a moment.

it's only a klinklang.

"what's that joke? professors threw pots and pans down the stairs to name these?"

larvitar gave a snort of amusement, because if that wasn't the joke it should have been.

just about out of the cave, absol suddenly lurched forward, grabbing the larvitar on her back and throwing the heavy thing off. she had managed to DETECT a SLUDGE being sent toward them, and countered accordingly.

larvitar's little fitt kicked in protest to her being thrown and she grunted trying to right herself.

the sableye on sam's back had faded into the shadow of his hoodie to use a SHADOW SNEAK on the marshtomp, appearing in its shadow and lurching forward to strike.

with a pained cry, the marshtomp tried to pull the little imp off but couldn't manage to get a hold. the sableye chittered happily. with a MUD SHOT toward the ceiling, the marshtomp leaned forward to allow the shot to blob off and onto the sableye, who in turn shot a POWER GEM into the marshtomp's back.

with a fade from the shadows the sableye was back on sam's back and the marshtomp was toast. sam threw a capsule to capture it while helping larvitar back onto her feet.
